Religion of Peace
How should one respond when one's deepest convictions are insulted?
The majority of people believe you should do all you can to defend your rights.
This week Muslims around the world responded to a passing negative comment by the Pope with acts of murder, violence and destruction of property. Many publicly called for the Pope's death "by beheading!"
What did Jesus say we should do?
He saw the futility of the above responses. He saw how they escalate evil and make the world a darker place in which to live.
He called his followers to forgive....not to be doormats but to use forebearance.
My clan motto is "I Bide My Time." I have seen that an ability to turn the other cheek enables one not to act impulsively...often situations resolve themselves in one way or another..
